TITLE++ ++CONTENT The Certified Case Manager (CCM) exam is developed by the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC) as part of its certification program for case managers. The CCM measures the skills necessary to excel as a case manager in a variety of health care settings. CONTENT++ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~Tab~~~ ++TITLE How do I qualify for the CCM exam? TITLE++ ++CONTENT To qualify for the exam, you must have a current licensure in any health or human services discipline permitting independent assessment of a client in the United States or its territories. Instead of licensure, you may qualify if you have a bachelor’s or advanced degree in certain health or human services disciplines. ++BREAK++ ++BREAK++ You must also have employment experience: either twelve months of case management experience under the supervision of a board-certified case manager, twelve months of experience supervising case managers, or twenty-four months of full-time case management experience. After your application is accepted, you will receive an exam eligibility email with your testing number and instructions on how to register for the exam. You can earn your recertification by taking continuing education courses or by retaking the exam. TITLE++ ++CONTENT Once you have completed your test, the computer you are working on will display your pass/fail score. You may print a hard copy of your score to take with you. You will receive your official results electronically four weeks after the end of the testing window. Remember, you may not use your CCM credentials until you have received your official results, even if you pass the test. CONTENT++ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~Tab~~~ ++TITLE How is the CCM exam scored? TITLE++ ++CONTENT The CCM is a pass/fail test. Of the 180 questions on the test, 150 are scored. Your raw score is how many of the 150 scored questions you answer correctly. That score is then scaled based on the level of difficulty of the questions you answered correctly. The minimum passing scaled score is 500. You will only receive a score report if you do NOT pass the exam. The report will include the candidate’s score. CONTENT++ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~Tab~~~ ++TITLE What is a good score on the CCM exam? TITLE++ ++CONTENT The number of correct answers needed to pass the exam will vary slightly depending on the questions included in your version of the test (i.e., if you took a version of the test with harder questions, the passing score will be lower). For security reasons, different versions of the test are administered every testing window. For most test takers, a passing score will be 105 questions answered correctly.
